Can’t find parking at Hidden Falls Regional Park? Join us for a guided hike at our Harvego Bear River Preserve in North Auburn. Along the trail you will enjoy the scenic views from Bald Rock, an overlook view of the Bear River, hear about the history of the cattle ranch in this rolling oak woodland savannah setting, and learn about the trail expansion plans to connect this preserve to Hidden Falls Regional Park.
Difficulty: Rated as moderate to strenuous with uphill and downhill hiking, uneven ground and rough terrain. This is a 4 mile hike and will take 3-4 hours to complete.
This is a wilderness outing in a natural setting: there are no restrooms, benches, or water available. Please plan ahead and bring what you will need.
We suggest you wear sturdy shoes, wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions, and bring plenty of water. Bring a sack lunch or snacks to enjoy along the way and your camera! You may also want sunscreen and a hat.
We have a “leave no trace” policy – if you pack it in, please pack it out.
Sorry, no dogs are allowed on our Preserves.
Participants must sign a release of liability which is available below. Please bring it with you.
We suggest a minimum donation of $10 per person. Your donation helps expand our trail system and keeps you informed of other upcoming events. We accept cash or checks at the event, or you can donate online via credit card at placerlandtrust.org/donate/.
The hike begins at 9:00am in North Auburn. Directions will be emailed after registration. The deadline to sign up is Noon the Friday prior to the event.
