Join us for a special docent led hike specifically for photographers! We will be stopping at select locations along the trail so you can set up your camera equipment. This trail has unusual rock formations, the beautiful Coon Creek, and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada foothills and Sacramento Valley.
The hike will be less than the normal 4 miles, (expect around 3 miles of actual hiking with multiple stops) and may take longer than 3 hours depending how many stops are made.
This is a wilderness outing in a natural setting: there are no restrooms, benches, or water available. Please plan ahead and bring what you will need. We suggest you wear sturdy shoes, wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions, and bring plenty of water. Bring a sack lunch or snacks to enjoy along the way! You may also want sunscreen. We have a “leave no trace” policy – if you pack it in, please pack it out.
Sorry, no dogs are allowed on our Preserves.
Difficulty: moderate to strenuous with uphill and downhill travel, uneven ground and rough terrain.
Participants must sign a release of liability which will be emailed to you. Please bring it with you.
We encourage you to become a member by making a $10 minimum donation. Your donation helps expand our trail system and keeps you informed of other upcoming event.
The event begins at 8:00am in North Auburn. Directions will be emailed after registration. The deadline to sign up is Noon the Friday prior to the event.
