Come hike with us on Saturday, January 17 at 9:00am.
The trail at our Big Hill Preserves has unusual rock formations, the gently flowing Coon Creek, and spectacular panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada foothills and Sacramento Valley. These preserves at Big Hill in North Auburn are a photographer’s delight.
This is a wilderness outing in a natural setting: there are no restrooms, benches, or water available. Please plan ahead and bring what you will need. We suggest you wear sturdy shoes, clothing appropriate for the weather conditions, (we suggest long pants), and a hat and sunscreen. Bring plenty of water and a brown bag lunch or snacks to enjoy along the way. Don’t forget your camera!
The hike is approximately 4 miles, and may take 3+ hours depending on the pace of the group.
Difficulty: moderate to strenuous with uphill and downhill travel, uneven ground and rough terrain.
We have a “leave no trace” policy – if you pack it in, please pack it out.
Sorry, no dogs are allowed on our Preserves.
Participants must sign a release of liability which is available below. Please print and bring it with you.
