Come join Placer Land Trust and REI on Sunday, November 9th from 9am-2pm, for a day of stewardship and celebration at PLT’s Taylor Ranch Preserve! We’ll be working on 3 miles of new trail on the preserve, and celebrating REI and many private donors who made the trail possible by contributing to Placer Land Trust’s Trails & Recreation campaign, which will eventually build 20 miles of new trails in Placer County. This event will be an interactive day with fun, hands-on activities and hikes led by Placer Land Trust docents; plus opportunities to give back through trail-related service projects for all ages and ability levels. No experience necessary! Lunch is included in this FREE event.
The service projects are optional, but you will receive an REI VOLUNTEER T-SHIRT if you participate. Please bring snacks, water, work gloves, and wear long pants with close-toed shoes.
Come show your support and appreciation of open spaces and outdoor recreation! RSVP is required.
You may participate in all of the following, or just come for a portion of the day if your schedule is limited.
9:00-11:30 Service Projects
11:45-12:30 Lunch and Ceremony
12:30-2:00 Docent led hikes & activities (various levels of hikes will be offered, including a kid-friendly hike & nature activities)
CARPOOLING is highly encouraged as parking is limited. Also, please note that the road to Taylor Ranch is dirt and gravel, so high clearance vehicles are preferred when possible, but not required.
Participants must sign a release of liability which is available below. Please bring it with you.
