Grab your favorite Mom and come on out!
They say April showers bring May flowers, and we’ve certainly had plenty of showers! So much that we had to cancel our previous wildflower hike due, so we’re hoping there will still be flowers to see.
This docent led hike will be at our Harvego Bear River Preserve in North Auburn on Saturday, May 13 at 9:30am. Our docents will guide you around the preserve to where the wildflowers are (hopefully) blooming.
In addition, you will also see the historic rock walls, hear about the history of the cattle ranch in this rolling oak woodland savannah setting, and learn about the plans to link this preserve to other PLT preserves and Hidden Falls Regional park.
We suggest a minimum donation of $10 per person which helps us continue our work and keeps you informed about other upcoming events. We accept cash or check at the event, or you can donate online at http://www.placerlandtrust.org/donate/ .
If you’re not yet a Placer Land Trust member, please consider joining to get invitations to exclusive member only hikes and events. http://www.placerlandtrust.org/member-sign-up/

DISTANCE: This is about a 4 mile hike and will take 3+ hours to complete depending on how many stops are made.
DIFFICULTY: Rated as moderate with uphill and downhill hiking, on uneven ground and rough terrain. To look at flowers, you may be walking off the trail in pastureland with potholes.
This is a wilderness outing in a natural setting: there are no restrooms, benches, or water available. Please plan ahead and bring what you will need.
We suggest you wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions. Bring plenty of water and a sack lunch or snacks to enjoy along the way. Don’t forget your camera! You may also want sunscreen, a hat, and a small notepad to take notes. If you have any field guides or hand lenses bring them along to help identify flowers.
We have a “leave no trace” policy – if you pack it in, please pack it out.
Sorry, no dogs are allowed on our Preserves, unless service animal.
Participants must sign a release of liability included here. 2017-blank-liability-waiver-photo-release Please print it and bring it with you. (one form per person)
