Bruin Ranch - Phase II
Following the successful acquisition and protection of 1,773 acres of Bruin Ranch in 2010, Placer Land Trust and The Trust for Public Land are continuing to work with landowner Lloyd Harvego to protect the final 526 acres of
Bruin Ranch.
The portion that has already protected is the most valuable from a habitat conservation perspective, but the remaining 526 acres are the most likely to be developed. This land is gently rolling oak woodland savannah and grasslands with spring-fed ponds and streams - perfect for development - but also perfect for conservation.
Placer Land Trust hopes to raise sufficient funds to acquire and protect this "Phase II" of Bruin Ranch to create conservation connections with existing preserved lands to the west and south, buffer our trail corridor, and create opportunities for a new publicly accessible trailhead for Placer Land Trust's planned wilderness trail system in the Bear River watershed.
With budget cuts threatening public funding of land conservation, we need the support of the private community now more than ever. Please support the protection of Bruin Ranch Phase II and Placer Land Trust's regional vision for this area, and please make a donation to Placer Land Trust today.
